The problem with bad fuel injectors stems from what Ican be described as the divide. This is where two different fuel lines make their way into your engine. These fuel lines, usually fuel injection system air control lines, are separated by a divider that is typically made of stainless steel. What happens is this: as you apply pressure to a fuel line with an injection system, a spark is ignited within the fuel line, causing a little bit of damage to the insides of the fuel line. Since the separation occurs at a high pressure, the injector must work harder to maintain and deliver a constant flow of fuel at whatever pressure the fuel line is currently pumping at. The result is that once the spark ignites, the amount of impurities that can be injected causes a reaction within the fuel tank, and you get this dirty, smelly gas that we call hydrocarbons. So, we know that poor fuel quality leads to dirty fuel injected but what about the rest? Well, impurities in the combustion chamber also cause a good share of the bad stinks.
