Celebrities Invest in Keeping Up Appearances

Actors, actresses and pop stars are obsessed with their looks. That’s hardly surprising seeing as they are filmed, photographed and scrutinised wherever they go.
It seems impossible for celebrities to nip out for a pint of milk or to take the dog for a walk without having to look glamorous. It’s not enough for them to hide their hair under a baseball cap or wear a comfortable tracksuit. They are expected to look perfect all the time.

With this constant exposure, it is not surprising that so many celebrities turn to cosmetic surgery to enhance their looks. Some celebrities are coy about whether they have had work done, even though it may be obvious, while others are happy to talk about it.  Often found in the public eye sporting the latest trainers, hats and women designer jeans there all to keen to be snapped.

Katie Price says do your research

Glamour model Katie Price, who has had several breast implants and also implant removal, said she is a fan of plastic surgery. She should be as her fame and fortune were kick-started by her glamour modelling career.

However, in an article in the Daily Mail, she advised people to do their research before booking surgery. She also called for the legal minimum age for patients to have cosmetic surgery to be raised from 18 to 21.

Another star who has reportedly turned to cosmetic surgery is the world-famous pop singer Madonna. The energy she puts in to her live shows is incredible with her amazing dance routines, and so it is no wonder she wants her face to look as young as her body.

If you look closely at photos of Madonna, you will see she doesn’t have any sagging skin, despite being over 50. She is thought to have had a very good facelift and Botox to keep her face looking fresh and youthful.

Younger pop stars are also calling up their plastic surgeons for treatment. Top singer Miley Cyrus is said to have had rhinoplasty to reduce the size of her nose as well as breast implants.

And it’s not just the women who are going under the knife.

Men are having cosmetic surgery too

Enrique Iglesias had his trademark mole removed from his cheek while America’s Got Talent judge Howard Stern has had a nose job and liposuction to remove his double chin. Across the pond, Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell has had Botox as part of his beauty routine.

If you are planning to follow your favourite celebrities in having cosmetic surgery, it is wise to take Katie Price’s advice and do thorough research.

The NHS also advises you to talk to your GP first and visit clinics and hospitals to ask questions. Also make sure that the clinics, doctors and nurses are registered.

Think carefully about the procedures you want carried out and why you want them. Cosmetic surgery is a huge investment and so you need to be sure that it is the right answer for you.
