How famous hoards could have done with better protection

In the world of literature, films and television there is always something that someone wants to steal. The idea of a  huge hoard of treasure hidden away somewhere waiting to be stolen is a well used theme in stories. In all cases the hoard of gold and treasure was taken, usually by the Hero or Heroes for a good cause such as themselves. Maybe if the owners of the treasure had CCTV Swindon based https://apmfireandsecurity.com/cctv-installation/cctv-installation-swindon/ to protect it maybe things would have been very different.

  1. Aladdin. The only thing worth taking from the Cave of Wonders is the Lamp which holds the Genie. However there is a huge amount of loot hidden away. The only security seems to be that if you’re not a “diamond in the rough” then you’ve no chance. Plus you can only take the lamp and nothing else.
  2. Scrooge McDuck’s money bin. Perhaps it wasn’t such a good idea to place a massive dollar sign on the side of one of the tallest buildings in Duckberg. It certainly made it a lot easier for the Beagle Boys to find it when they felt the need to rob it.

3. Smaug’s Hoard. Originally belonging to the Dwarves of Erebor you would think that being a huge fire breathing Dragon might prove a pretty big deterrent to committing a robbery but Thorin and Co had other ideas. They had a secret entrance to help them but still had to rely on Brand’s archery skills to get the rivers of gold flowing again.
